With the summer holidays well underway, there is one thing certain to be on the minds of parents with school-age children – new school shoes for the kids.
For Clarks at Lakeside Village Shopping Outlet, it’s one of the busiest times of the year, with measuring foot sizes and sorting out the right footwear for youngsters.
The only Clarks in the area, the Lakeside Village store has experts on hand to help find the perfect fit and offers free in-store appointments to help you skip the queues.
It also has Quiet Time appointments, with fewer crowds, less noise, and softer lighting, all of which make these times perfect for young children.
Abby Chandler, deputy centre manager at Lakeside Village, said:
Finding the right shoe is such an important task when it comes to children and it is something Clarks has been doing for 200 years, having been founded in 1825. The store is holding a competition this summer to win a free pair of school shoes, and to enter, all you have to do is book a ‘measure and fit’ appointment in the shop.
The closing date for the competition is August 31, so you will need to have your appointment by then to be in with a chance of winning.

Going back to school isn’t all about shoes, of course, and Lakeside Village has lots of other stores to help you get everything the children need.
Trespass has high-quality outdoor clothing, footwear, accessories, and equipment for all types of outdoor pursuits, meaning you can kit your kids out with waterproof and padded jackets, fleeces, backpacks and wellies.
You can find everything the children need for sports and PE in Sports Direct, and a trip to The Works will help you make sure they have everything they need in their pencil case, along with arts and crafts materials, books and stationery.
And, of course, don’t forget the uniform! We have an M&S Outlet to take care of this, with free collection in store for orders made online.
Other stores that will come in handy as you plan for back to school include Skechers for trainers and shoes, and TOG24 and Mountain Warehouse for outdoor wear.
