Back in January, we were thrilled to welcome Bingo, the new guide dog Lakeside Village has sponsored. As today is International Guide Dog Day we thought we would share an update on how our fluffy friend is doing.

Although Bingo is still slightly wary of getting brushed, he loves to make a fashion statement by wearing his favourite collar and lead; stylish. In terms of tricks, Bingo is starting out and slowly getting used to the classic commands of ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’ and ‘wait’. He will do anything for a treat and sits patiently whilst waiting for his favourite time of the day, dinner time, especially when he gets time to catch up on his beauty sleep afterwards.

He is almost fully potty trained and enjoys walking, car rides and socialising with other dogs. He is still shy around crowds of people on trains, buses and around town.

Bingo is settling nicely with his puppy raisers and their two children. He is happy, confident and doesn’t seem phased. Thanks to your donations and support Bingo is looking forward to becoming an incredible guide dog, allowing freedom and independence to someone with sight loss.

Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is there to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well. Guide Dogs rely on donations to continue their life-changing work. Every pound raised makes a difference to people in the UK living with sight loss.
