Businesses who operate in the Lakeside area of Doncaster have joined forces to set up The Big Lakeside Clean Up.
Lakeside Village Shopping Centre has teamed up with Doncaster Rovers Football Club, Doncaster Council’s Business Doncaster, and a number of local businesses to clean up the area as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British September Clean.
The Big Lakeside Clean Up will take place between 8.30am and 9.30am on September 24 when representatives from the businesses will don their high vis vest, grab their litter pickers and get set to make the area tidy.
Di Rodgers, centre manager from Lakeside Village said: “We are thrilled that we’ve been able to join forces with our friends, partners and neighbours to arrange this event to help to tidy up the area that we all operate in.
“We’ve planned this up event with our Meet The Neighbours Lakeside partners and are hoping to attract lots of volunteers to come and help us.
The Big Lakeside Clean Up will start from the Keepmoat Stadium at 8.30am on September 24and people will be put into groups with key locations around the Lakeside area to focus on.
Jon Warburton from Club Doncaster said: “We’re pleased to be involved in this great show of partnership working. We’re sure that lots of our team from Club Doncaster will join us on the day and do their bit to make our area one that we can be proud of.”
