Everything you need to know about Lakeside Village’s Seasonal Festivities 1 December event

With Christmas just around the corner, we’re excited to announce our first ever Seasonal Festivities event, set to take place at Lakeside Village on Sunday 1 December.

Q: What date and time does the Seasonal Festivities event take place?
A: Our Seasonal Festivities event takes place on Sunday 1 December from 11am – 4pm.
Q: Where will Seasonal Festivities be held?
The event is jam-packed with activities that will be taking place throughout the centre. Our Christmas Cinema screen will be located outside Thornton’s, the Main Stage where Bang Bang Romeo will be playing will be located outside M&S Outlet, and Santa’s Workshop will be located next to Calendar Club.
Q: Do I need to buy tickets for the event?
No, the event is free to attend. However, there is a £5 charge, plus a fifty pence (50p) booking fee, for Santa’s Workshop and we strongly urge people to book ahead online to avoid disappointment. You can do this here: http://bit.ly/LVSantaWorkshop
Additionally, some activities may request a voluntary donation to our Charity of the Year – DonMentia.
Q: Is the Christmas Cinema free?
Yes, as with all our outdoor cinema events, the screenings are free to attend. However, we would advise arriving early to ensure a space.
Q: What films will be screened at the Christmas Cinema?
We will be showing two films: The Grinch (2018) at 11am; and Elf (2003) at 1pm.
Q: Do I need to bring my own chair for the Christmas Cinema?
We will be providing seating on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we are expecting screenings to be busy and therefore would recommend bringing your own portable seating, such as deck chairs, as well as a blanket or two!
Q: What time are Bang Bang Romeo on stage at?
Bang Bang Romeo will be performing onstage, outside our M&S Outlet, at 3pm.
Q: Will all of the stores be open at the event?
Yes, all of our stores will be open – many offering great deals as part of our Black Friday Weekend. Individual store opening times may vary. Please visit our website for further details.
Q: Can I bring my dog along?
Yes, we welcome well behaved pooches in our outdoor areas, however dogs are not permitted in our stores. Please also note the event will be busy and there will be loud noises.
Q: What food and drink will be available on the day?
We’ll have a fantastic selection of seasonal food outlets, including Continental sweet treats from Crème de la Cookie, German sausages, mulled wine and hot chestnuts.
Additionally, our usual food outlets – Greggs, Thornton’s and Costa – will be open to enjoy.
Q: Is there free parking?
Yes, we have 920 free parking spaces on site for our customers’ use.
Q: Will the event be going ahead if the weather is bad?
As Lakeside Village is a largely outdoor shopping centre, we would advise our customers to wrap up warm and bring a brolly. In the event of severe weather warnings, we will of course assess the situation and react accordingly. Please check our social media channels on the day for any weather related updates.
