Bluebell Wood fundraising gets off to a colourful start

In the first of our fundraising missions for the charity, Lakeside Village centre manager, John Magee, took part in Bluebell Wood’s Colour Dash, held annually at Rother Valley.
He joined more than 3,500 people of all ages to complete the 5km course on Saturday 29 April, being showered with an array of coloured paint powder at each kilometre mark.
Speaking after the event, John said: “The Colour Dash is a really fun way to raise awareness of Bluebell Wood and raise money to help support the charity’s work.
“It was truly inspiring to see so many people joining together to complete the course – be it running, jogging or walking the distance – all with the same aim of supporting the hospice.

“We’re thrilled to have Bluebell Wood as the official Lakeside Village charity of the year for 2017 and the Colour Dash event has been the perfect way to kick-start our partnership.
“We look forward to joining in with many more of the charity’s fundraising activities over the year ahead, as well as organising our own exciting initiatives to get our shoppers involved with supporting Bluebell Wood and its vital work.
“We’ll be revealing more details of our plans shortly, so watch this space!”
