Customers at Lakeside Village are being asked to donate their unwanted bras to help a cancer charity appeal.
A kind-hearted donations will be rewarded with a free cuppa from the onsite Greggs outlet in a bid to say thank you.
Donations can be made at Lakeside Village’s Wonderbra/Playtex/Shock Absorber outlet who have previously collected more than 1000 bras for the Against Breast Cancer charity.
Lyndsey Parry, deputy centre manager at Lakeside Village said: “We are pleased to be running this bra amnesty as we know that most ladies have at least one or two bras in their cupboards that no longer fit them.
“We are pleased to be working with our Wonderbra outlet who will collect all the donations and Greggs who will be giving out the cuppas as a thank you.”
For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund its vital research. The bras are also used to help support small businesses in Africa, as the charity’s textile recovery project prevents the bras going into landfill and gives them a new lease of life where bras remain too expensive to produce locally.
Tracey Murphy, store manager at Wonderbra said: “As a team, we are really committed to raising awareness of the symptoms of breast cancer. We have guides on display in all of our changing rooms showing our customers how to check their breasts.
“We urge all of our customers to donate their old bras towards this great cause.”
Unwanted bras should be donated at the Lakeside Village Wonderbra/Playtex/Shock Absorber store.
