Temperatures are set to rise this Halloween as Lakeside Village starts with a sparkle and ends with a firewalk!

Wednesday 11th October 2017

Starting with week off with a sparkle is the Le Vian event at Ernest Jones on October 30 when a whole range of Le Vian product will be brought to the store for one day only. This will be the largest showcase of exclusive Le Vian designer jewellery ever.
Halloween will see pumpkin carving classes running from 11am until 4pm, spooky face painting, and cooking demonstrations with Sodexo‘s chef Peter Bartholdy from Doncaster Deaf Trust rustling up a treat with Pumpkin Rescue recipes.
John Magee, centre manager for Lakeside Village said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming our shoppers along to our big pumpkin cook up!
“The Pumpkin Rescue is a celebration of food, introducing new skills, and carving up Halloween conventions. It is a way to creatively encourages people to think about the food we throw away. On average, a terrifying 18,000 tonnes of pumpkin is wasted in the UK at Halloween alone and there are so many delicious things that can be made with the bits we traditionally through away.
“It will be great to see lots of children taking part in our free pumpkin carving sessions, learning new cooking skills and taking part in our treasure trail finding letters in our stores in return for a chocolate treat.”
Next stop is the Google Bus, which will be at Lakeside Village for the day on November 2. The Google Digital Garage bus will offer free workshops and face-to-face coaching, with visitors having the option to either book in advance via https://events.withgoogle.com/book-digital-garage-sheffield/#content  or simply drop by for on-the-spot help.
Training ranges from beginner to intermediate levels meaning everyone can take part, and covers topics such as taking first steps online, CV building and social media strategy.
“We are rounding the week off with our Hot Deals weekend on November 4 and 5 when shoppers on the lookout for some pre-Christmas bargains can pop along and make the most of our special weekend of must-have discounts and deals,” said John.

‘Hot deals’ will see stores at Doncaster’s only outlet shopping centre offering a range of special offers and money off discounts on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November.

“Hot deals will be even hotter this year as we host a Fire Walk in aid of our chosen charity Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. We’re hoping our shoppers will rise to the challenge of strolling across 1,200 degree hot coals on November 4.”
The event is set to take place on the mall from 4pm – 8pm, and will see participants walk over sizzling hot coals while raising money for the charity.
There is a £30 non-refundable registration fee (+ booking fee) and a minimum sponsorship target of £100 per person taking part.
